Trans Violence & Employment Protection Act Enacted
In a session of the Privy Council, The Queen approved a Bill to protect the rights and freedom of transgender individuals in the Kingdom.
Queen Marie-Adélina gave her Royal Assent early this morning, after consulting with her counselors, on the matter. The Act ensures that no transgender individuals cannot be fired due to their identity. Moreover, any violence against a trans person carries a sentence of at least five years, while murder carries a life sentence without parole.
Today is National Coming Out Day in the United States and Legialle.
While progressive movements and acts have benefited gay and lesbian Legiallois, few bills have protected the status of transgender individuals. A murder of an American transman near Legialle Proper prompted the Government to intervene.
“This Act will ensure that all trans individuals, whether citizens or tourists, are given the utmost respect and treated equitably under the law,” the Prime Minister told the press this afternoon.
